I agree to this, as I may,
Life was never all happy & gay.
It was hard, it was miserable.
Sorrow was the only thing stable.
I was hungry, desperate to be fed.
Working day in, day out for a dole of bread.
But I had something, guess it was my soul.
And now it's gone, someone came and stole.
I stand in front of the mirror but I cannot see,
The whole human, I once used to be.
I take a ride down the memory lane, to some degree
Oh look! There stands the old me
I'm all sweaty and filthy I look,
As the family's dinner I cook.
It was a bad day, our landlord is in a fury..
Father could not pay the rent and now he has to hurry
Landlord shouted at my father. My father is pleading,
He said he'll seize all our sources of feeding..
And then he said something about me, I don't know what it was
Because Maa came and dragged me in. But now I know the cause.
That day was my last. I'm no more a life,
I somehow breathe, somehow survive..
Now there is an emptiness inside me. I'm hollow.
Unwillingly submitting to the directions given to follow
I feel like a toy. Only used to play
The game is over. I'll soon be swayed!
