It is Saturday night and all she could see in this blinding city were the stars on this clear night! So pretty and bright! Alluring with peace and away from the clutter of life! That's when the idea hit her. Were these stars as innocent as they seemed? Afterall, they have witnessed mankind's greatest secrets and sins in silence. Maybe they smile every now and then thinking how humans are trapped in complications created by themselves. What are the reasons for inception of all the problems but humans themselves! They have created borders and class divisions, deceptions, secrets, rivalry and what not. All of it for what? Alas! Upon contemplation, how simple animal lives seem now. Humans are trapped in the system they have created themselves so much that they will never realize something as simple as this. It only needs observational glimpses to understand this. Something that is only possible from outside the system. Something that these stars see. But even they are not spared and they know it. Every now and then humans attach the burden of their desires to a falling star. They pretend that the ones who have left have now become one of the many stars. The cliché of a lover is always associated to the stars. And why wouldn't that be? Nobody deserves to be as happy and as carefree as them. Humans have this habit of including everyone in their grief stricken lives. But she found this thought amusing. Afterall, the starts are as much a part of it, aren't they? Two lost lovers breathe under the same stars, as do the prey and the predator. There is no escape now. They might laugh at the misery underneath their existence but that does not make them any less a part of it. And as she was thinking this, somewhere someone was thinking of her, while looking at the stars and it was then that she saw a falling star for the first time.
